Welcome to the website for the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) US 301 Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. This study is evaluating the widening of US 301 from County Road (CR) 470 East to State Road (SR) 44, a distance of approximately 7.8 miles in Sumter County. This includes evaluating the need to realign a portion of US 301 south of the City of Coleman to lessen the movement of heavy truck traffic through the community. All viable alternatives and alignments will be considered. Additional coordination regarding the Cultural Resource Assessment Survey and recent revisions to the FDOT Design Standards have resulted in a slightly delayed schedule for this project.  The Public Hearing has shifted to be tentatively schedule for Fall 2018, and the estimated completion date has changed to Summer 2019.  If you have any questions or comments regarding the study, please contact the study team by submitting a comment here.  Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
